Settling in to the new dance season

Settling in to the new dance season

As dancers, the right gear is essential for both performance and comfort. Before diving into the new season, it’s important to evaluate your dancewear and footwear. A well-fitting leotard, tights without snags, and pointe shoes that offer support are small details that can make a big difference in your confidence and movement.

Gear Check: Setting Yourself Up for Success

As dancers, the right gear is essential for both performance and comfort. Before diving into the new season, it’s important to evaluate your dancewear and footwear. A well-fitting leotard, tights without snags, and pointe shoes that offer support are small details that can make a big difference in your confidence and movement.

Pointe Shoes:
If you’re a pointe dancer, your shoes are your most important tool. Worn-out or ill-fitting pointe shoes not only affect your performance but can also lead to injury. This season, take the time to check the condition of your shoes. Look for signs of wear like soft shanks, fraying ribbons, or uneven platforms. If you notice any of these, it’s time to replace them.

Our new Merlet Pointe Shoe Collection offers cutting-edge design and support to keep you comfortable and balanced on stage or in class. Whether you’re looking for a shoe with a harder box for extra durability or a lighter feel for quick transitions, our Merlet range is crafted for every dancer's needs. We also carry other Pointe shoe brands such as Nikolay, Capezio, Bloch, SoDanca, Sansha, Russian Pointe (RP), and Gaynor Minden.  We carry shoes for every shape and strength of feet.

To make sure you’re always ready for class or performances, consider joining our Pointe Shoe Club. When you buy 4 pairs of Pointe shoes at regular price, you’ll get the 5th pair at 50% off! This offer ensures you’re stocked up for the season and can dance confidently without worrying about last-minute replacements.

Dancewear:
Check your leotards, tights, and warm-ups for signs of wear and tear. Ill-fitting or stretched-out clothing can hinder your movement and distract you during class. A snug yet comfortable fit helps you maintain focus and enhances your lines. Consider investing in durable, breathable fabrics that last longer through rehearsals and performances.

We carry leotards of all price ranges.  You'll be able to find our very basic leos that start in the low $20's, to our beautifully designed fashion leotards that can go upto $100. And of course everything in between which can also be quite beautiful and durable.

Accessories:
Don’t forget about accessories like toe pads, dance bags, and hair supplies. Having everything in top shape sets you up for a smooth, stress-free season.

Starting the season with fresh gear helps you feel prepared and confident, giving you one less thing to worry about so you can focus fully on your dancing.
